Mining

Renewable energy can be used as an effective and sustainable alternative energy source for mining to integrate fossil fuel, photovoltaic panels and Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) seamlessly. The CSP technology used in mining operations can offer 90% capacity factor.

Agriulture

Renewable energy can be used to provide a different source of revenue for the farm. This different revenue stream can offset operating expenses of the farm and provide economic resiliency in poor growing years. Solar does not need to be installed on current or projected growing areas.

Sanitation

Renewable energy powered devices can quickly produces steam, and could be used to sanitize things quickly and easily in places where a lack of clean water for washing makes it difficult to keep things sanitary. The steam is generated by solar power, so this appliance can be used in places that remain off the grid.

Trojan Solar

Gridpro’s Trojan Energy is a 56MWp/45 MWac on-grid PV Plant in Bindura designed to supply power to Kuvimba’s mines with the first priority being given to Bindura Nickel Mine, Freda Rebecca Gold Mine, and Shamva Gold Mine. The plant will be built in two separate phases. The proposed plant will supply electricity to the Kuvimba Mining House mines through long term Power Purchase Agreements. The project will seek to integrate with the grid and will explore agreements with ZETDC for wheeling and net metering.
